The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  on Wednesday, renewed the mandate of Hon. Ogbeide Ihama to represent Oredo at the Federal House of Representatives for a second term.

The primaries which started with accreditation of candidate  had 113 delegates present out of 125 delegates expected.

Returning Officer, Deacon Rufus Alele, who presided over the election, said though PDP had only one aspirant for Oredo Federal Constituency, the Constitution had to be followed to the letter.

According to him, “Though there is only one aspirant vying for this post today, we have to still put it to voice vote to ensure that the constitution is followed”‎.

After the voting exercise, Ogbeide Ihama was presented certificate of return, haven scored a total of 113 votes.

In his acceptance speech, he thanked his people for the confidence reposed in him and assured of better days ahead.

“All my achievements is for the good people of Oredo who gave me the mandate and repose confidence in me.

“The school and hospital I built do not know PDP or APC,  even the street lights I put in all the nooks and crannies if Oredo is for the good of my people”‎, he said.

In a remark, the senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Sen. Mathew Urhoghide, congratulated Ihama for his renewed mandate, describing him as a man who gave quality representation in the first tenure. He said the renewal of his mandate will spur him to do more.
