Nollywood is not only about putting smiles on the faces of movie viewers but also to show love and affection to people in reality.
This was brought to the fore when Nollywood stars visited Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care and Treatment Home School, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos and donated various gift items to the home.
Those who visited the home include former president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Victor Osuagu, Valentine Agwulonu, Tunde Shado, Nora Adibe, Genevieve Ijeawele, and Blessing Ebigieson among others.
Leader of the delegation, Victor Osuagwu told officials of the home that the visit was a prelude to the Nollywood Health and Entertainment Summit coming up on October 28 in Lagos.
“From what we have seen today, people don’t know what God has done for them. When you wake up in the morning, you look at yourself, you are complete in your body but when you visit places like this, you would know what God has done in your life and that is why we came here to interact and show love to them.”
Talking about the summit, Osuagu says: “It is going to be an interactive moment with health professionals especially from Britain, United States of America, and India. We will give lectures on different health issues and remedies to participants. It will be a platform for people to get information about health issues and how they can get possible cure. There will be free medical tests for participants and solutions will be offered to them.
“Our expectations for the summit is to help people have access to information about health problems and medical care. Some people die in silence without knowing what is happening to them but when they come, they will find solution to their problems.”
The former president of AGN urged individuals and corporate organisations to collaborate with the organisers to make the summit a big success.
