No fewer than 20 athletes will compete in the maiden Gov Ibikunle Amosun Mr Macho/Strongest Man Championship slated for end of May 2017. According to Hon Oladele Adeniji, Chairman of the Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area, sponsors of the event taking place in Ogun States main industrial town, Sango Otta was essentially conceived to expose, empower and grow local talent in a fast growing competitive sport.
“The decision to initiate support the maiden Gov Ibikunle Amosun Macho Man/Strongest Man competition is primarily borne out of our desire as a responsible government at the grassroots to empower our youths especially the sports inclined ones to succeed.
“ And we find it also fitting to dedicate this inaugural edition to the States number one citizen, His Excellency Senator Ibikunle Amosun who we know as not only a focused achiever but one who actively backs projects and initiatives that seek further the growth and empowerment of the youth “ Hon Adeniji said in an interview. The competition which is drawing participation from physically endowed body builders from across the state will be offering big money prizes trophies as well as a chance to participate in the upcoming National Macho Man /Strongest Man championship scheduled to hold in Abeokuta Ogun State later in the year.”
