Osun APC agent dying of kidney disease

…Needs N5m for transplant in India

From Clement Adeyi, Osogbo

An agent of the Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adewale Lawal Olansile, is down with a kidney disease.
For Olansile, fondly called  Promotion by friends and well-wishers, the last Christmas celebrations had no meaning, as the ailment denied him and his family the season’s fanfare.
While friends were busy sharing love and gifts during the celebrations and relishing the joy of the season, Olansile was anxious of who would offer him a kidney.
Since October 14, 2014, when he was diagnosed of the ailment, he has visited several hospitals across the state. After spending over two million naira on the ailment but to no avail, doctor’s report at Gani Fawehinmi’s Health Diagnostic Centre, Ondo, said he needed N5 million to enable him travel to India for kidney transplant.
He, therefore, appealed to kind-hearted Nigerians, government officials, corporate and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) as well as religious bodies, among others to come to his aid and save him from imminent death. He has been on sick bed for more than two months now.
Olansile, who narrated his ordeal to the reporter on his sick bed, lamented that he had spent more than two million naira before he discovered that he would need a kidney transplant.
He said: “I did a test at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) where I was told that I had polycystic kidney disease. I also went to Biket Hospital and Oroki Hospital, Osogbo, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital College, OAUTHC, Ile-Ife, and Gani Fawehinmi Hospital in Ondo State but to no avail.”
“I have been on this bed for over a month and almost in one position. I have spent everything I have in my life on this sickness,” he lamented..
Olansile also recalled that a referral letter given to him from Oroki Hospital, Osogbo, to OAUTHC showed that he was diagnosed with symptoms suggestive of polycystic kidney disease.
According to the letter, he was also found to have “E, U, Cr & LFT results in-keeping with the diagnosis.”
Olansile who was APC agent in Unit Two, Ward 11, AUD Primary School, Erin-Osun, Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State, has contributed immensely to the development of his community as he has discovered many talents in music industry and promoted them. He is a music promoter, trader and politician.
“I was the party agent during the first election of Governor Aregbesola and I was the unit leader during his re-election,” he said. “My leaders in APC have tried their best for me but they are now tired. That is why I am now appealing to Nigerians for help.
“If I see somebody that will buy my house today, I will sell it. I am ready to sell all my property and save my life because I am experiencing agony and pains.”
He also lamented that most of the people that have been helping him had deserted him since they learnt he needs a kidney donor and N5 million to be well again.
Olansile, until now a social commentator, said he could no longer listen to the radio. “I can’t hear any noise due to the ailment. That is why I have not been contributing to radio and television programmes for over a month now,” he said.
