Acting President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) yesterday approved appointments into various parastatals, agencies and commissions.
According a statement signed by Chris Okeke for the Director of Press, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the appointments with immediate effect and subject to the confirmation of the Senate. The appointments mainly affected the National Pension Commission (Pencom), Bank of Industry (BoI) and Consumer Protection Council (CPC).
Alhaji Ali Usman was appointed the Chairman, National Pension Commission, while Mr. Funso Doherty was named the Director-General of the same commission. He replaced Mrs Chinelo Anohu- Amazu, who was relieved of her appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari in April. Other appointments effected at the Pencom included, Manase Benga, Zaki Magawata,       Ben Oviosun and Nyerere Ayim as Executive Commissioners. All the six appointments at Pencom are subject to the confirmation of the Senate.  Dikko Aliyu AbdulRahman was appointed the Chairman, Governing Board of (BoI) while Mr. Olukayode Pitan was made the bank’s Managing Director. He replaced Waheed Olagunju, who hitherto was the Acting Managing Director.
The last appointment affected Emeka Nwakpa, was made the Chairman, Governing Board of the Consumer Protection Council.
