Acting President Yemi Osinbajo met with the National Peace Committee led by former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd) at the State House, Abuja, yesterday.
The meeting which started at about few minutes at 4pm ended at about 6pm, but the leader of the delegation declined to comment on what transpired.
According to Abubakar, the delegation were only on a courtesy visit to the acting president. This is the first time the committee will be meeting Osinbajo since the administration came into power in 2015.
Other members of the Committee present at the meeting Archbishop of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Bishop Hassan Kukah, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe (retd) among others. The committee which was initially known as the National Peace Committee for the 2015 General Elections met with President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2015, where it expressed its concerns about the process of the anti-corruption war of the administration.
