One week after failing to honor Super Eagles call up for the all-important Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia, Victor Moses yesterday started for Chelsea and scored a goal for the Blues.
Moses had only last week told the NFF he wont be in Ndola for the Eagles assignment because he was down with injury.
Just like Moses, Watford’s Isaac Success also excused himself on grounds of injury. But everything points to the 20-year old striker being in action for his club today as Watford play away to Middlesbrough.
Chelsea in yesterday’s game recorded a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Ahmed Musa’s Leicester City.
NFF’s technical committee boss, Chris Green while reacting to Moses’s start for Chelsea said the soccer federation is watching with keen interest and would act at the right time.
“We are watching. We wont be in a hurry to take any decision,” Green said.
He was however quick in adding that the good thing about the round leather game is that no player is indispensable, especially in a country like Nigeria that God has blessed with over flowing talents.
It would be noted that some NFF officials had before the Zambia, Nigeria match doubted if injury was the real reason why both Moses and Success failed to come for the Eagles game. They had insisted that they wont be surprised to see both players in action for their clubs after the international break.
