The Managing Director, Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), Engr. Fidet Okhiria and his counterpart from Stanel Group, Mr.  Stanley Uzochukwu, will join other influential personalities across Africa to receive this year’s  Africa Value Awards (AVA).

The event is scheduled  to hold  on November 17 at the Nigeria Air Force Conference Centre, Federal Capital Territory,  Abuja.

The prestigious award established to recognise Africans who had distinguished themselves in various fields of human endeavour will also honour the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), Babatunde Fowler; Governors, Legislators, captains of industries and other esteemed Africans.

It will also recognise Hon. Davematics E. Ombugadu;  Moses Siloko Siasia; and Mohammed Jamal, Managing Director, Three Palm.

In the banking sector, Heritage Bank Plc will be appreciated, while AITEO Eastern E& P, Ethiopian Airline and  Elizabeth Jack-Rich Aid Foundation will equally be garlanded at the occasion.

AVA, it will be recalled, is a brain child of the Value Reorientation and Developmental Initiative Africa (VARDIAFRICA.)

It is formed to recognise individuals and organisations that have positively projected the value of the African Continent in terms of economic development, youth empowerment, community development, educational development, quality service delivery, humanitarian services; and also  had encouraged peaceful coexistence.

Chairman of the Planning Committee, Amb. Daniel N Obah; said, “Abuja Nigeria will be playing host to these African leaders. And  recipients of the awards are selected across Africa.

“It is  one way of recognising influential  African nationals who have contributed immensely to the development of the  continent.”

He disclosed that this was the maiden  edition of VARDIAFRICA initiatives; an organisation that promotes African value, excellence, economic and youth  empowerment.
