Molly Kilete, Abuja

Men of the Inspector General Of police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested five more suspects in connection with the Offa bank robbery of April 5, where over 33, persons including police officers, were killed.

The five suspects were arrested within the week after the IRT, personnel stormed the south west part of the country in continuation with the investigations into the robbery.

Daily Sun, reliably gathered that the team who temporarily relocated to Kwara State last Sunday, with one of the factional gang leaders and a dismissed police sergeant Michael Adikwu, made a headway after combing some of bushes and operational bases of the group in some states in south west.

Adikwu, who also trained the gang members to how to shoot was also said to have personally shot and killed 22, Persons mostly Police personnel at the Station during the robbery.

Sources at the IRT office in Abuja, told Daily Sun, that the dismissed police sergeant led operatives to the locations and hideouts of where the suspects were arrested.

The source who does not want to be mentioned in print was however silent of the investigation so far carried out on response of the senate president Bukola Saraki, on his alleged involvement in the robbery saga.

This is even as Daily Sun, gathered that all the arrested suspects have since been transferred to the IRT, office in Abuja for further investigation.

The police headquarters had, on June 3, invited the Senate President Bukola Saraki, to appear before the Force Intelligence  Response Team, in Abuja, following his alleged roles in the criminal activities in Kwara State.

Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, at a media briefing, where he paraded 13 of the arrested suspects, said five prime suspects allegedly  implicated Saraki and the Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Jimoh, said that said the invitation extended to the Senate President followed confessional statements by five prime suspects to the effect that Saraki and Kwara State governor,Abdulfatah Ahmed, were not only their sponsors but also provided them arms with which they use in their illegal operations in the state.
