Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu are among eminent Nigerians expected to grace the official presentation of biography of veteran actor, Chief Lere Paimo on Saturday.
Royal fathers expected at the event include, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
Governors Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo), Ayodele Fayose (Ekiti), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun) and Akinwumi Ambode (Lagos) have also been invited to the event that will hold at Apex Event Centre, Agodi Gate, lbadan on Friday, July 8.
Chairman of the planning committee, Mr. Sayo Alagbe said prominent theatre and movie practitioners and people from all walks of life are expected to celebrate Paimo when his biography entitled: Lere Paimo: A Quintessential Thespian, will be presented to the public.
“The purpose of the event is to celebrate the stories and objectives of Lere Paimo’s theatre life and messages, to serve as reference guide for the audience, the theatre scholars, aspiring theatre students, and film industry at large
“Lere Paimo remains the sceptre of the old and contemporary theatre industry and has done the nation’s proud both locally and internationally…
“He has also contributed immensely to the socio-cultural and tourism development of Nigeria through his unbeatable records in the theatre and movie industry,” Alagbe said.
