The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has developed a new e-exam application aimed to sanitise the school examination systems and boost credibility through the significant reduction of human interference.

The new application, according to a statement by NOUN Director of media and publicity, Ibrahim Sheme, was developed with unique features that would simplify exam registration and writing with less human interaction and improved credibility.

The statement added that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdalla Adamu, has given his consent for the new e-exam application to be tested at the next exam to ascertain its efficiency and improve on where necessary.

To acquaint staff with the new arrival, the institution held a capacity building workshop to further expose the staff on how best to manage the application and secure it against any attempted cyber attack.

The Vice Chancellor who addressed the trainees encouraged them to freely criticize the application and make superior suggestions as a way of further making it ideal for the subsequent e-exams.

The innovation, the VC said, was first of its kind in the institution, stressing the need to sincerely appraise its strengths and weaknesses at the workshop.

Meanwhile, NOUN Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Dr. Madu Galadima, was optimistic that the new application will end barrage of complains of cheating and other exam related issues in the school.
