A front line Jigawa female politician, Hajiya Ladi Dansure, has said that non-participation of women in active politics as the bane for their development and progress in the state and country, at large.

Ladi Dansure, who hails from Roni and also the commissioner for women affairs in the governor Abubakar Badaru’s administration spoke to the press, on Monday,  after a political stakeholders meeting with governor, saying “I’m particularly not satisfied with the role the women folk play in the politics of the state”.

Dansure said, “It is so sad that women have been relegated to the background even in some situations where they play very active role in propagating qualities of their political parties”, she said.

She said the stake holders meeting with the state governor availed them the opportunity to sheath their common political differences by rallying round a popular, credible and loyal political candidate against the local government councils chairmen elections.

She noted, however, that despite having a candidate against the forth coming local government polls in the state ‎she would prefer to remain committed to that plea by the governor and allow for a transparent selection of a person with integrity to emerge”, she stated.
