No rift between Jonathan, Dickson –PDP

From Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja

the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports of a rift sbetween former president Goodluck Jonathan and Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson.

The party also dismissed speculations that there is crisis in the state chapter.

Chairman of the PDP National Caretaker Committee,  Senator Ahmed Makarfi, stated this, in Abuja, when he receivedmembers of the executive committee of the party in Bayelsa State, who visited him at the party national secretariat, yesterday.

Makarfi said after communicating with Jonathan and Dickson,  the party discovered that some mischief-makers were out to create crisis in the Bayelsa PDP and urged the leadership of the party to beware of those who are out to cause disaffection among party members in the state.

“Don’t allow yourself to be fragmented by rumour.

“Your executive has been ratified by the convention and that is final.

“There is no need to pander to rumour of an impending sack of the executive. Immediately the rumour broke out, the former president called me to dismiss it and said there is no iota of truth in the petition against the Bayesla executive,” he said.

On his part, state chapter Chairman, Moses Cleopas, said those spreading rumour about the alleged frosty relationship between Jonathan and Dickson were simply envious of the peace in the party.

“The former president is a respected national leader and we have been holding him in high esteem in Bayelsa as our father. The governor is our leader in the state and the two of them have been relating well. There is no feud between Jonathan and Dickson. I can confirm that. Some people are just envious of the peace in Bayelsa PDP,” he said.
