IT it made for a colourful occasion when MercyBen Kiddies Montessori School, Ejigbo, Lagos, celebrated its annual cultural day recently, with its pupils dressed in different cultural attires of Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Ibibio, Efik, and Bini.

In a chat with The Sun Education, the proprietress of the school, Mrs. Mercy Abiodun Benson, noted that it is the school’s tradition every year to showcase the richness of the cultural heritage of Nigerian tribes. “Apart from putting on native attires, they also showcase and eat different types of native foods,” she said. “We use this medium to teach them the value of culture and traditions of Nigeria.”

She noted that the Montessori School believes in catching them young culturally, adding that the school believes in sound teaching spiced with Montessori learning activities that make the place look like home away from home.
