In a bid  to take youths off the street and engage them in meaninful activity, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) Great Gregory Imafidon foundation is organising a Gold cup  football competition for under 13 boys in Edo state.
Speaking on the importance of the competition, the Founder of Gregory Imafidon  Foundation , Mr. Gregory Imafidon a  philanthropist   based in  Dallas, Texas,  USA urged  members of the public to contribute their quota to tackle youth restiveness,  and criminality .
He said “  It is my hope that this soccer competition  will help divert the attention of youths from any criminal activities and involve them in a rather meaningful and constructive sporting activity like soccer  to help towards the development of sports in Edo State”.
Mr. Imafidon added that the football competition will be held annually with winners and talented players  getting support to pursue a career in football at the international level if they wish to.
He further advised parents and guardians to encourage their children and wards to participate in youth sports rather than engage in destructive activities in Edo state. The founder also encourage youth soccer clubs to pick up application forms from Edo state sport council.
