The Nigeria Football Supporters Club, NFSC on Wednesday resolved that the office of President General and that of the Deputy President General currently occupied by Rafiu Ladipo and Aderenle Yusuf respectively would henceforth be open for election.
This resolution came at the end of the NFSC Annual General Meeting that had chairmen and secretaries of 19 state chapters, executive members of the club as well as members of the board of trusty.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, Ladipo stated that he is happy at the resolution as he has given his contribution to the club without restriction. “The decision by the house is one that gladdens my heart. I have served as national president and also as President General. That the position of President General and that of the Deputy President General is now elective would see others contributing their own quota too.”
However, the congress it was gathered also resolved that both Ladipo and Yusuf remain in office until after the Russia 2018 World Cup. The reasons adduced by the members are that it would be upsetting the applecart for both men to be disengaged now as attending the World Cup is of importance.
Ladipo, while speaking to the media said that Nigeria did well to qualify as the first team from Africa for the World Cup. “The Super Eagles deserve commendation foe qualifying before our last group game against Algeria.
