THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Sub-committee will on Tuesday hold a crucial meeting at the secretariat of the football federation to finalise the protracted engagement of a substantive chief coach for the Super Eagles.

A reliable source who made the disclosure in a telephone chat with Daily Sunsports at the weekend maintained that the parley had become pertinent to rest the speculations on whether the federation will settle for a foreign or local coach.

The caretaker coach, Salisu Yusuf, had recently boasted that he is the most qualified coach in Nigeria to step into the vacant position, having acted as the assistants to many of the chief coaches, warning the federation that it is either the position or nothing.

However, commenting on coach Salisu’s stand, a member of the technical sub-committee, noted that he won’t want to comment on it since the committee would finally resolve the lingering issue, stressing that it would be settled finally in its recommendations to the executive committee of NFF.

“Yes, we have heard the comment attributed to Salisu that it is either the top position or nothing but I won’t want to dabble into that since everything about who handles Super Eagles.

“The technical committee meeting will be held on Tuesday at the Glass House. The committee will send a recommendation to the executive committee after streamlining the roadmap towards engaging a substantive chief coach for the team,” he said.
