Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc in collaboration with the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) is hosting the maiden edition of the Lagos Crossover Concert, 2012 at the Star Mega City, Eko Atlantic City, Lagos with music, comedy and dance. The Lagos Crossover Concert, will hold on December 31, and usher in the New Year.

Artistes billed to perform are TuFace, Omawunmi, WizKid, Tiwa Sawage, Don Jazzy, D’Prince, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid of the Mavin Crew, Burna Boy, amongst others. Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) declared the Star Mega City opened on Thursday and commended NB Plc for sponsoring the project. “This partnership between the public and the private sector is something that this administration has worked tirelessly towards achieving.

We are happy that Nigerian Breweries is one of the corporate bodies that have bought into the idea and I know that this partnership between Lagos State and Nigerian Breweries Plc will only grow stronger,” he said. Mr. Yusuf Ageni, NB’s Corporate Affairs Adviser, lent credence to Governor Fashola’s speech. His words; “Lagos holds a special place in the heart of star, as well as Nigerian Breweries. Thus, there was the need for the company to contribute something special to the state at this time.”

He said: “Nigerian Breweries started its first operations in Lagos and it was also in Lagos that Star, Nigeria’s first locally brewed and longest surviving lager beer brand, was born. So, we have a special bond with Lagos State. That was why we decided to get involved in the Crossover Festival.” According to Ageni, the 12 days of celebrations at the Star Mega City would be filled with ample entertainment as the year winds to a close. “Star Mega City was opened just to spread the values that Star is all about, which is fun and excitement. We will have live music, comedy, dancing and DJ’s who would all be present to thrill revelers non-stop.

After the Mega City celebrations, we will move on to the Crossover concert,” he enthused. Encouraging Lagosians to take advantage of the event to enjoy them, Ageni said that the Lagos Crossover Concert was designed to bring 2012 to a grand end. “We just want Nigerians from all walks to life to enjoy the moment. Yes, there may have been challenges in the course of 2012, but we are all still alive and there is every reason to Shine On,” he noted.
