The Glo Presents The Big Friday Show has added a feather to its cap. The increasingly popular lifestyle cum entertainment TV programme emerged as the FAB Awards Television Show of Year 2012. Produced by entertainment powerhouse, MTV Base, and sponsored by leading telecoms operator, Globacom, the show won the award at the 3rd edition of FAB magazine’s annual awards and fashion show tagged: FAB Night Out, held at Landmark Village in Lagos recently.
FAB Night Out is organized by FAB magazine, a quarterly fashion and lifestyle magazine with eighty percent African content. It is intended for the young, urban male and female professionals and those aspiring to be like them. According to the publishers of the magazine, Glo Presents The Big Friday Show was chosen for the award ahead of other popular television programmes such as Tinsel, Project Fame, Nigerian Idol and Ultimate Search. The organizers observed that the show had, since it hit the TV screens, grown in popularity among television viewers and entertainment lovers due to its rich content and uniqueness in presentation.
Hosted by ace comedian, Basket Mouth, The Big Friday Show is a lifestyle/entertainment magazine, which features celebrity appearances, top 10 music video countdown sessions, celebrity and fans meet among other exciting highlights. It also features SMS and Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), trivia/competitions and prize-winning opportunities. It airs on MTV Base Channel 322 and on Silverbird TV and AIT. The show also runs on ORTB in Benin Republic and ViaSat1 in Ghana.
One of the most popular features of the show is the Prank Yo Peoples! Segment, which offers viewers an opportunity to prank their friends and send in their pranked video by MMS or by uploading it on facebook. The funniest clips will be played on the show. The overall best ‘Prank’d’ clip will stand a chance to win a grand prize of $2000 (about N320,000) at the end of the quarter!
