Nigeria’s league body formally debunks the insinuation marking the round in some media outfits that the body has called off this season’s kick-off slated for March 9.
The Interim Management Committee (IMC) made the disclosure yesterday, owing to the dissemination of what it described as false information being disseminated by unnamed online media sources attributing the cancellation to an announcement by the NPL.
“There is no going back from the date earlier slated, March 9, kick off date, Enugu Rangers will trade tackles with Enyimba Football Club of Aba, at the Coal City, on Saturday, while all other matches will be played on Sunday as earlier scheduled.
“Licenses are ready, and all other related logistics in respect to starting off on Saturday has been completed, we want to assure that all logistics have been put in place for the kick off and we have no hitches of any form, we look forward to a hitch free season, while enjoining our partners in progress (the sporting press) to feel free in clarifying ambiguous disseminations relating to the league from our media department.
