After a successful reign, Mrs. Becky Oyinbo, the current Queen Esther of the Household of God Church, will end her reign and hand over to a new queen on Sunday, December 8.
Commenting on the development, an official of House Hold of God Churc shared light on the vision and objectives of the beauty pageant: “Over the years, many ladies have occupied this coveted position based on the creativity of their costumes which depict the female Biblical characters they portray. The competition is part of the church’s way of selecting an Ambassador inspired by outstanding female heroines in the Bible.
“The contestants not only dress like these female heroines, they dramatise their character traits as reported in the Bible. The contestant with the most creative costume is then crowned as the Queen Esther and gets a cash prize of N1million,” the official added stating that the competition is one of the highlights of the GRACE programme of House Hold of God Church. The Queen Esther Beauty pageant debuted in December 2006 and Jumoke Adebanjo emerged the first Queen Esther.
