Flood: My personal house now under water -Jonathan

From JULIANA TAIWO-OBALONYE, Abuja

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday while commending development partners and organisations that have so far responded to the cries for help by Nigeria, to rehabilitate her citizens affected by the flood, has disclosed that his personal house in Otuoke that was initially spared, has been submerged by flood.
“Nigeria is so devastated by the flood. Sometimes when you watch on television, you do not appreciate what we are going through. I travelled from North to South and on Sunday I was in my village after touring my state. I left my village on Sunday morning and as at that time water was about entering my compound.  As at this morning the information is that my house up to the windows level is under water,” he said.
Speaking at the official launching of save one million lives, A United Nations Commission on Life Saving Commodities for Women and Children at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Jonathan said: “So, you can see what people are passing through within this period. But with the assistance the development partners will give us and people who are in the humanitarian sector, we will soon get over it.”
Meanwhile, the Dickens Sanomi Foundation yesterday disclosed that after five days of rescue operations in various parts of Delta and Bayelsa states, it had successfully evacuated about 12,300 flood victims from danger-prone areas.
The Foundation, which had called on the state governments to establish more camps with adequate security, said it was overwhelmed by the situation on ground, insisting that unless more camps and enhanced security were set up, human catastrophe looms, as the rising water level continues to sack more communities and villages.
The Coordinator of “Project Rescue 10,000 Flood Victims in Delta and Bayelsa states” of the Dickens Sanomi Foundation, Daniel Idonor, said the 15-man team of experts and professional socials workers had visited 42 communities.

Hi Just want to tell you about
    best money making site~
    irespective of your age,
If you are a student or working
    class
    Educated or not…it doesnt
    matter
I knw most of you guys have
    hearing about this money
    making site called”NETCONTA
    CTS”
    and probably be wondering
what the heck is it all about or
that it is a scam,or illuminati
stuff like one of my gf called it.
    But its not!
    Its purely NETWORKING
    Well lemme break it down
    Netcontacts
    is a System Of Money
    Making,
    it is an
    online
    networking business where
    members
are paid by the persons that
    they
    invite to register as
    Netcontacts members, through
    their invitation
    codes.
plus many other benefits as a
    member eg
    *admission,
    *you earn N1500 for each
    person you invite to register
    under you,and you can make
N1.5 million monthly ,just by inviting
1000 people from the whole 36
    states monthly
    * they give loans to start up a
    business or afalling business or
    to pay/your school
    fees,anything
    *aiding when you intend in
    traveling outtside the country
    *marketing your goods and
    services,sellin
    gof goods /
properties @ a very cheap rate
*helping in securing job for your
    depending on your CV
    *and many more
But before you can gain all this
    you “MUST”become a full member
    So Whenever, any member
    invites
    somebody to register under him
    or
    her as Netcontacts member,
    the
    person registers for free trial
    membership.
    The member in free trial
    membership cannot invite other
    people
to register under him or her,
    until he or
    she migrates to full
    membership.
    And for a free trial
    member to migrate to full
    membership,
he or she has to activate his or
    her membership,
    by paying N1,500
    membership activation fee to
    the
    person that invited him/her.
    So, that
    the person that invited him/her
    will
    activate his/her membership.
    After
    his/her membership activation,
then would he/she be able to
    invite other
people to be paid also or apply
    for any
    Netcontacts benefits.
    How Does It
    Work?
1st Step : Log on to
    http://www.netcontacts.com.ng
2nd step : click on Get Started
    Now, and
    do register with them. You
    would
    be asked for your invitation
    code.
    Write 306236085
    as your invitation code.
    3rd Step : you
will have to complete an online
    registration form and a
    questionnaire to have a
    registered
    account with NETCONTACTS
    4th
Step : you would be asked of
options how u would want to
    receive
    your money for every member
    you
    invite. So choose your best
    option
    from the choice listed.
    5th step : you
    would be provided with
an invitation code to also refer
    people
    to NETCONTACTS with your
    invitation code.
6th step : you would be giving a
    free
trial account until you get your
    account activated.
    7th step : To activate
    your account,
you would be asked to make a
payment of 1500 naira to the
    bank
    account of the person that
    invited you.
8th step : Upon payment at the
    bank,
    you would send your activation
    number provided to you upon
    registration and the bank
    deposit
    teller number to the phone
    number of
the person that invited you to
    activate your membership online
    9th Step:
    When your membership has
    been activated, then you to
    would be
able to refer people to join
    NETCONTACTS with the invitation
    code provided to you upon
    registration. And the person
    you invite
    goes trough the same step
    listed
    above.
    For Example, Assume you refer
    10
    people,
    you would be paid
    10 x 1500
    = 15,000 Naira
    50 People, you
    would be paid
    50 x 1500 = 75,000
    Naira
    100 people,
    you
    would be paid 100 x
    1500 = 150,000 Naira
1,000 people , you would be paid
    1000
    x 1500 =
    N1,500,000(mill ion) Naira
    In
    summary, you would be paid
    1500
Naira per each person you refer
    to the
    site with your invitation code.
So the more person you invite,
    the more Naira
    you receive…

Hi friends, just want to introduce you to a site where you can make N1,500 continuously directly to your Bank A/C, for each person you invite to NETCONTACTS. This is REAL, and not scam. You can make a research about it ur self. Asking Google i.e(is netcontacts scam?) can also assist u. Just register for free with the free trial first, u can later activate ur account to full member with the sum of N1,500. Note that all the people u invite will also be paying you N1,500 b4 you can activate them!! Imaging you invite 100 people or more, that will be (100×1500=150k or more ) I must tell u, I am happy with it, but you cannot join d site except u are invited by an activated member (full member), so, if u are asked for an invitational code just put 20701283 as ur invitational code. Try it out first before u critisize it. I can assure its damn real. I could not believe it also until I tried it. For direct registration page click or copy to your address bar; http://www.netcontacts.com.ng/invitation/?invitationcode=20701283 For more info contact me on 08064531593. For Nigerians only

This current flooding in Nigeria is a disaster that requires a UN’s assistance but this should not make our dear President to talk like a pikin as he was reported last week to have told the world that 25% of Nigerians have been displaced by flood. This can only be excused if GEJ does not understand what constitutes 25% or he was misquoted.

The next time you want to build a house go and build it in the moon. At least with the money you have stolen so far you can afford to build a house in the moon where there will be neither flooding nor Boko haram.

Shame and a big shame for a country like Nigeria to be in this mess simply because Cameroun is maintaining their Dam and has to release water from it. This is just the begining and enough for us to know that Nigeria is a failed state, nothing has been done fundamentally to make us a solid state and the decay has gone beyond remedy, it is a pity the house will definetely collapse soner than later.

Nigerian’s are their own worst enemies. All our past and immediate presidents have tried their best but what will govt do when citizens call relations and loveones dat gave honest service in govt fools for nt enriching themselves and their families i,e. Those dat served honestly. That is the handiwork of those who are quick to criticize govt. They themselves are worst thieves and criminals. If u think its easy to be a leader, proof it in ur business and comunity. Why nt contest for president and win. I Love, OBJ, YARADUA, GEJ even Azikiwe, Awo, Belewa, Gowon, ojukwu, murtala, Buhari, IBB, Abacha, Abdusalam, shonekun and Tunubu, orji uzor kalu. All have contributed to where we are today. You are the same people who will complain if he keeps quiet. You point one finger at others yet you turn a blind eye to the four that is pointing back at you. If you wer the president most of you will be worse. At least see him first as a human being. He is not super human. What is wrong or sinful in him telling the nation that his one house is also submerged in the flood?

The federal and the state governments ministries of works, should, should creat what i call depertment of delta works as it is obtained in western world. Their job, is to make water channels to link the main land and river line areas, This will even help in transportation of goods from/to the hinter land to the delta region this will also enhances the free flow of water any time their is a desaster like this one in future. If they can’t do it alone, let them employ experts from countries like Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden, thosee countries mentioned above, are before worst than the creeks in niger delter , i would like anybody that is reading this comment , to use satelit google map to view this countries and see that even if north and baltic seas, bust its banks, the citizens are in no way threatened.
