Finally, the presidency and the leadership of the National Assembly have reached a truce on the 2013 budget. Barring any change of plans, President Goodluck Jonathan would present estimates of the 2013 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly next week.
Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba made the disclosure at Wednesday’s plenary. Shortly before the plenary was adjourned, Ndoma-Egba told senators that the scheduled budget presentation would no longer hold on Thursday, October 4. His words: “The budget will not be laid on Thursday as contained in the president’s communication to us.
“ The budget will be laid sometime next week. I thought I should clarify that because some of our colleagues may think the budget is still coming tomorrow. When a date is communicated to us, it would be read on the floor for distinguished Senators.” Ndoma-Egba did not say specifically when the new budget would be laid next week.

The N’ assembly can only be said to be transparent and corruption free if,they pass a law that will reduce de national assembly percent of our annual budget to 5% as it is in other countries in de world.remember,de poor masses are suffering 2 much.

National assembly don’t delay the passage of 2013 Budget. This budget must be ready before new year eve, so that implementation will take effect from 1st of January 2013. Late budget passage equals delay implementation.
We are still yet to feel impact of d previous years budget and Worse still MDAs like INEC are yet to get their 2nd and 3rd quarterly release. Lo and Behold GEJ wants to present B2012. Naija we hail thee.
You see it, as i have been saying: they are nothing but scaventures. Until they’re given money before allowing mr President to present the buget. Thieves, I hate them, they should be scrapped especially repts.
In all fairness the level of implementation of 2012 budget need to be ascertain before accommodating that of 2013. This will make budgetary issue more realistic as against becoming an ordinary paper.
