The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Azubuike Ihejirika yesterday put the number of people so far killed by the Boko Haram at 3,000. He lamented that the activities of the sect had adversely taken economic and psychological tolls on the people and business in the northern part of the country.
The chief of army staff spoke yesterday in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital while declaring open the third inter-division and headquarters map reading competition organized by the Nigerian Army Education Corps (NAEC). General Ihejirika who was represented by the General Officer, Commanding 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major Mohammed Abubakar added that the current security challenges in the country required collective and extra efforts to tackle.
His words: “The changing nature of threats to Nigeria’s national security environment has manifested in the militancy, kidnapping, violent extremism and terrorism. It is a known fact that terrorism worldwide is characterized by extremism, violence, hatred, lack of respect for human dignity and constituted authority.
“The spate of bombings in parts of the North has necessitated the Nigerian Army to review its doctrine, with a view to updating our training and operational procedures to fulfill our constitutional mandate. Success in this pursuit, therefore calls for renewed and concerted efforts and initiative.
“I therefore urge all of us to remain resilient to be able to overcome the miscreants and terrorist attacks on our psyche and our beloved country through conscientious effort for the country to make good progress. It is in this line, that I commend the determination of NAEC to write and publish a book on ‘terrorism.’ “This will no doubt positively contribute to our determination to fight the present security challenges.
The book will also serve as a reference material for researchers on Nigerian Army viewpoint and strategy against domestic terrorism.” Earlier, the Corps Commander, NAEC, Major-General Lucky Banjiram said the current security challenges in the country had continued to undermine national security. He added that the challenges had thereby placed strains and demands on the Nigerian Army’s resources. He said: “It becomes necessary therefore to re-emphasise the need for training and retraining of army personnel. The competition is NAEC’s effort towards the training of its personnel and the creation of a pool of instructors in map reading for the Nigerian Army”

4. The Federal Government will wait for the Hurricane to first land and wipe out States then;

- Visit the disaster location for a first hand assessment of the damage.
- Visit the survivors camp and share relief material (Mosquito nets, rice and Indomie)
- Set up a committee to investigate the Hurricane and see how we can prevent future hurricanes from visiting Nigeria.
- Release billions of Naira (on Paper) for disaster management.
- Sack the Minister of Water Resources for failing to contain the water.
- Commend the State Governors, NEMA, Red Cross and other emergency services unit for their quick response.
5. The Senate will hold an emergency session and condemn the ‘Hurricane’.
6. Churches around Nigeria will hold crusades and Programmes with Titles like ‘May Hurricane wipe out your enemies’.. ‘Calming the Hurricanes in your life’.. ‘Finding the Rainbow in your Hurricane’.. e.t.c..
7. M.I will release a single about hurricanes.
8. Femi Falana (SAN) will sue the Hurricane, F.G and State government for their poor handling of their handling of d Hurricane.
9. CPC, ACN, ANPP, DPP, APGA and others will blame d PDP and Jonathan 4 d Hurricane.

Eazyboyy, that is Nigeria, we dn’t know how to join hands together to surve problem. As much as i hate PDP with passion, i can never vote any political party or candidate the only talk of problem and never provide solution. they dn’t care about Nigeria, the only care about themselves.
I highly commend President Jonathan, for reaching joint security arrangement along the border, with Authorities in Niger Republic. It is long overdue. Such should be extended to all the Northern boundaries. It will go a long way to nip in the bud, influx of mercenary fighters, arms smuggling, and other evils across the border with Chad, and other neighbouring countries. There should be proper ways of identifying other nationals, and illegal aliens in Nigeria. Many of the wanton destruction lives and property, are being carried out by paid, illegal aliens in the country. Multitude of them are hired to vote during elections. Nigerian Authorities need to take drastic measures, to end wanton destruction of lives and property by sponsored terrorists, if they want the country to remain one. Massacre of South Easterners preceded the civil war. There is hardly an hamlet in South Eastern Nigeria, that isn’t bereaved of persons living in the North, by batches of religious fanatics since after the Nigerian civil war. They take the initial peaceful disposition of people in the South for granted: or as a weakness.
