President Jonathan’s house bows to flood

…As Dickson orders evacuation of Otuoke natives

From Femi Folaranmi, Yenagoa

Governor Henry Seriake Dickson yesterday ordered the immediate evacuation of President Goodluck Jonathan’s kinsmen in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, even as the President’s country home was not spared by the rampaging flood that has submerged the community.

The concerned residents were sacked by the flood which in the last three weeks has rendered thousands of people in the state homeless, and property, worth millions of naira, destroyed. Assessing the level of damage during his visit to the affected areas, the Governor, through his Deputy, Rear Admiral Gborubiogha John Jonah (rtd), ordered the evacuation of the affected residents to one of the relief camps in the community.

The evacuation, according to him, became imperative against the background of the hardship the residents have been subjected to, and to avert the outbreak of epidemic in the area. Dickson added that government was taking pro-active measures to mitigate the impact of the rising level of water. Commiserating with the victims, the Governor assured that no stone would be left unturned at ensuring that the victims bounced back to life, especially those that had lost their means of livelihood. He told the natives that government had ordered the importation of seedlings in readiness for the next planting season in order to prevent food shortage.

It can be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan, during his visit to the relief camps in his home state assured the victims of government’s support in ameliorating their suffering. Investigations revealed that about 85 per cent of Bayelsa State has so far been submerged by the flood.

God is no respecter of persons.we must pray and ask for forgiveness of our sins and seek for mercy as our sins have reached heaven and God is now revisiting us with same punishment as was in Noah’s time.My beloved president must lead this prayer team and not the hypocritical type Gowon is embarking.God is speaking and mr.president is expected to clean the land by bringing to justice l all the corrupt past and present leaders, officials whose evil conduct is the reason for this deluge on the people of Nigeria.

Well Peter you may be right but I think it is more of our carelessnes that is causing all these things. See the Department of Metereorology forecasted early this year that there will be excessive rain which will result into flooding but there was no preparation or readiness to face and counter that impending challenge. And now that it is all over us they are releasing money against it. This is a chase after the wind and here we see a government beating in the air. As far as I’m concerned, God has not done anything here. It is a natural disaster and He in His mercy revealed it to us. We should blame our leaders who are not proactive. They should be held responsible for the deaths and damages.

sorry to u mr president. u re not d cause of this problem, it was pass and present leaders that stole our resources that caused all these calamities in our land. God is not happy with Nigerian leaders, these are the signs coming 4rm our Lord Almighty. Those that killed my 3 million people with impunity 42 yrs ago, those that committe ritual killing in the name of wining elections, those that stole their state money and build hotels, homes, capital flight to foreign land in Europe, America and Asia like TINUBU, UDENWA, THEO ORJI, OHAKIM, OBJ, IBB, BODE GORGE, TARFA BALOGUN, DIMEJI BANKOLE, FAROUK LAWAL, LUCKY IGBINEDION, PAPA AWOLOWO, GOWON, ANENE, OYENUSI, ANINI, IYAMU, SINO RAMBO etc.

Only God knows when it will end. With the numerouse signs coming from left and right, flooding, kidnapping , killings, bunch of diseases align to our culture, lies, god fatherism, human trafficking , rapping both young and old, having sexual intercourse with daughters in laws like the one OBJ committed against his son Gbenga, killing of 3 million souls with impunity committed by AWOLOWO agains Ndi Igbo extraction , their cries are what we are witnessing today, danger is luming. A replica of sodom and Gomorrah.

Should not be news because my own in the town of Ebenator in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra state had almost given way to a very serious gully erosion which has ravaged my community for the past 15years. Despite series of SOS to both federal and state governments nothing has been done. The family house is almost gone with the erosion and so with so many other families in my community.
