Former National Vice- Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has dismissed the merger deal between the main opposition parties that culminated in formation of the All Progressive Congress (APC). The Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN), the All Nigerian Peoples’ Party, (ANPP) and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), as well as certain chieftains of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA),
had on Wednesday announced the formation of the APC which they vowed, would unseat the ruling PDP in 2015 general elections. Chief Tom Ikimi who addressed newsmen in Abuja said that the merger was informed by the, ‘’resolve to form a political party committed to the principles of internal democracy, focused on serious issues of concern to our people,
determined to bring corruption and insecurity to an end, determined to grow our economy and create jobs in their millions through education, housing, agriculture, industrial growth and stop the increasing mood of despair and hopelessness among our people.’’ But speaking with Sunday Sun on phone, Chief Bode George declared that the APC was a coalition of teenagers in politics on a road to nowhere. He further submitted that the chieftains of the ACN and the CPC whom he noted were in the vanguard of the merger deal were strange bedfellows with no common ground.
“They are teenagers in politics of this country and we aren’t afraid of them. It is even good that for the first time, we are having a semblance of opposition who are living their comfort zones as tribal warlords. Let us see how Bola Tinubu and General Muhammadu Buhari would sustain this. We aren’t afraid. Can Tinubu work with Buhari? It is a huge joke. Where are they going to meet? They are incompatible. They have no common ground.” The PDP chieftain further expressed confidence that the party would remain the party to beat in the country, as he claimed that it was “the only party that has the true colours” of the country.
“The foundation that brought PDP was a coalition of people with different ideologies. It was created to fight the General Sani Abacha regime. But our founding fathers laid a solid foundation. It is PDP with our Constitution that has sustained democracy. We have existed for 14 years.
Before, politicians only held sway in their tribal zones, but the founding fathers of PDP created a sense of oneness. It is the only party that has the true colours of this country. It is in PDP that you have the major ethnic groups in the country and the minorities coalescing together,” he said.
All these our politicians are WAYO people don’t mind any of them.

Ohebe, the abuse is unjustified. It is clear that Bode was sentenced for inflation of contract and that is corruption whether he benefited from it or not. He probably gave u the money.
The fact is that he went in for it, but there are likes of Bode who have committed more than he did, yet they are moving freely in nigeria. His friends just wanted to nail him as at that time.
He has served his prison terms and regain his freedom, but he remains an ex convict unless he is pardoned.

Bode George was tried for corruption by a competent court in Nigeria and was found guilty, He was sentenced accordingly and he served out his jail term, so whether he is a great great fore fathers, he remains an ex convict nothing can change this fact as long as this life remains, so let us avoid fighting a lost fight. Third, whether Mr. George was persecuted or prosecuted, it doesn’t matter because his ordeals was the handiwork of his party, the PDP, not that of the oppositions. He was accused of embezzlement of billions of naira of internally generated revenue (IGR) of the Nigerian Port Authority while he worked there as the Chairman of the Authority by his party, the PDP. Can Mr. Penmight or any one else tell Nigerians what he or she thinks is the trouble between Bode George and Obansanjo today? Just a little insight and is subject to your investigation. Bode George financed the PDP and OBJ’s elections with his loots from the Port Authority with a promise that nothing will happen. Little did he know that this will come back to hunt him or become his bullying point by the same OBJ. But it did and George is not quite happy about it. That’s the cross of the rift. Confirm. The final issue is the ex-convict arguments. An ex-convict is an ex-convict no matter the age and Mr. George is one. The fact that he got plea bargain and the case was subsequently withdrawn does not mean he is not an ex-convict. He is. Our money, your money and people’s money is what he embezzled. The law is not a respecter of age, may be he was spared a jail term because of his age by encouraging him to enter a plea bargain but he is still an ex-convict like many other criminals out there, period.
