From BAMIGBOLA GBOLAGUNTE, Osogbo
In spite of last week’s judgment of a Federal High Court, Abuja that nullified the election of former Osun State governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the state chapter has insisted that he remains the National Secretary and should therefore, be accorded the respect due to his office. Also, the state chapter has passed a vote of confidence in Oyinlola and declared its loyalty to him as the National Secretary.
The state’s Publicity Secretary, Prince Bola Ajao told reporters in Osogbo yesterday that the former governor had taken necessary constitutional actions to redress the judgment; hence he should retain the office. He said that Oyinlola had challeneged the decision of the Federal High Court, adding that the notice for stay of execution on the judgment has been properly filed and all interested parties have been properly notified. Ajao who noted that the decision of the court nullifying Oyinlola’s election was based on misleading and unfounded claims, stressed that the stakeholders of the party are aware of Oyinlola’s decision to challenge the judgment.
He said: “It is very apt to state that Prince Oyinlola was not a candidate of the party in the South-West as stated in the judgment as he was duly elected at the National Convention of the party as enshrined in the constitution of our party. Therefore, Oyinlola was not a candidate at the zonal congress of the party. “It was also a fallacy for anyone to claim that Oyinlola was imposed on the party by the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the former South-West Chairman of the party, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo, as stated in the claim of the plaintiffs with which they mislead the court,” he added.
Ajao also stressed that “as a responsible corporate body, which has respect for the rule of law and due process, the party has already appealed against the judgment of the Federal High Court and we are very certain that the erroneous judgment shall be upturned in the interest of fairness, equity and justice.” He said that the national secretariat of the party was solidly behind Oyinlola and would ensure that justice is done at the end.

Oyinloya should for God’s sake go and sit down and be contented with all that he has stolen so far, right from his days as military governor. He has continued to leave in the shadows of God fathers. He has never leaved on his own. I think as a lawyer he should go and practice and leave politics alone. He should be ashamed of himself, can he not leave without politics? He is an expert in croockedeness, this is how the court has been disgracing him still he will never learn. Shameless idiot.
The most ugly gov in Nigeria today, pasting his Indian hemp face replica has dainted the nice report concerning Oyinlola Olagunsoye,s action against his PDP members.
