My life in danger, cries Ogun monarch

A traditional ruler in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Abdulrasheed Adeosun has appealed to the state government and the state police command to save him from those he alleged were after his life. Addressing a press conference yesterday in Abeokuta, the state capital, Oba Adeosun, the Alaga of Aga-Olowo said some people were desperately after his life and had concluded plans to eliminate him over the stool and the land he occupied.

The Oba narrated how he narrowly escaped death by the whiskers when some hoodlums allegedly invaded his palace late in the night. His words: “I am alive by His grace, I would have been dead by now, when my assailants masterminded by someone who was desperate to occupy the royal seat that does not belong to him.

He added: “I am the rightful occupant of the seat because I was legally appointed as Baale of the village by the late Olowu of Owu, Oba Olawale Adisa Odeleye before I was upgraded by the state government. He appealed to the state government to protect him and his subjects from his opponents, who had vowed to unleash terror on him and his village. “They have promised to unleash terror on my village, just to create disaffection among the peaceful inhabitants of Aga-Olowo.’’

The head of the Atere family,which produced Oba Adeosun, Chief Sodeinde Sanusi, while asking the state government to intervene, said: “We are law-abiding citizens, but we would not fold our arms and allow our ancestral gifts to be taken away from us. “They have told us that they will use both the apparatus of government as well as intimidation and coercion to cause crisis in the village.

That’s why we are praying the state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun to come to our aid.’’
