Leave me out of Osun politics, Oyinlola’s wife tells Aregbesola

The non-governmental organisation (NGO) belonging to the wife of former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has asked the state government not to drag it and its founder, Mrs. Omolola Oyinlola, into the state’s politics.

An official of the Women and Children Development Initiative Foundation (WOCDIF), with its office on West Bye Pass in Osogbo, told newsmen on yesterday that it was shocked by statements made against it on Thursday by the state government, which claimed it would seize its property. According to the official, the NGO would do everything necessary to protect itself from moves by the state government to demolish its building in Osogbo as well as forcefully take over it property. “WOCDIF is a legal entity duly registered under the nation’s laws.

All its property are legally acquired and the site of its centre in Osogbo is well over 100 metres from the road. How and why the state government decided to mark it for demolition is still a matter that should give all men of reason concern.

“The funds that were used to build the centre were not secretly received. There were two public fundraising events held at the Osogbo township stadium as well as at the centre, with donors from all over the federation in attendance. There were donations from across political and social divides. So, it is preposterous for anyone to say the WOCDIF centre was built with state funds.

Again, it is interesting that the government made this allegation two years after it has been in power and had even used the centre on some occasions.

MRS OYINLOLA YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE EXCEPTION TO DEMOLITION DERBY IN NIGERIA. FTC,OYO,OGUN,AND RIVERS STATE ARE IN THE SAME EXERCISE. IF YOUR PROPERTIES PROPRUDED BEYOND WHAT THEY SHOULD BE, BE EXPECTED TO BE PULL DOWN. PUBLIC DOMAIN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN POLITIC OF WHINING. PEOPLE AT IJEBU ODE,MOLETE,AND RIVER FRONT (RIVERS STATE) IJORA -APAPA BRIDGE (LAGOS) ARE SAYING SIMILAR THING. GOVERNMENTS HAVE TO DO WHAT IS GOOD FOR ITS CITIZENS.
