From Petrus Obi, Enugu

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State finally returned yesterday to the state after his extended vacation abroad amid tumultuous reception in in the capital. The governor, who had arrived Abuja, Wednesday from London, touched down at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu around 3.pm yesterday amid cheers from the crowd of enthusiastic citizens who had thronged the airport since the early hours of the day to welcome him.

He was welcomed on arrival by the Acting Governor, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi, accompanied by his wife, Nneka, national and state Assembly members and other top government officials. Dressed in a cream white jacket, blue stripped shirt and a pair of black trousers, Governor Chime acknowledged cheers from the ecstatic crowd that included many federal and state legislators, traditional rulers and top government officials before he was driven to the Governor’s Lodge.

The governor was also received by another crowd which sang and danced as he drove into the Governor’s Lodge. The only part of the whole saga that I personally don’t like is how Enugu state govt and our political leaders or most times rulers in general make sickness a highly classified information. The people have the right to know the state of health of their leaders; it’s no big deal to be sick which when it happens suppose to attract our prayers. All the same, I thank God that Chime is back in flesh and blood. Of good note is that they have a good structure which made governance and development not to slow down during his absence. Kudos!

It is only he who can create, that can destroy. The life of man is in the hand of the creator who knows the beginning and the end of man. My brother Governor ,you are welcomed back to your sweet position that the enemies wanted to take from you. But my only advice to you, is to draw closer to God who made it possible for you to be back in good health and also forgive every one who had played one enmity role or the other. God bless you.

I wish him a quick recovery as you can see the man really went through a lot of things and I can tell you that, he is still not fit to stand the heat of Governance but Nigerian mentality of sit tight will not allow him to resign and take care of his health, for health is very fundamental in every human activities, May God grant him his Mercy to cope with the challenges of governance among health challenges.

It is imperatively pertinent for the mouth to chew with caution when it is housing a rotten tooth. this time, Chime have to be very careful on how he goes about his social and political life.
