Kogi State Governor Idris Wada who was injured in a fatal auto accident last Friday was yesterday discharged from the Cedar Crest Hospital, Abuja where he had been receiving treatment for a broken thigh. Wada, who lost his Aide de Camp (ADC) in the car crash, had been receiving treatment in Abuja since the crash occured. Wada was said to have left the hospital at about 9 am yesterday in the company with his aides, amidst tight security.
Certifying the governor fit, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, who was in charge of the treatment, Dr Felix Ogedengbe, said that it was better for Wada to recuperate fully at home for his thigh to heal permanently. According to the doctor, the treatment given to the governor would allow him to move around, adding that the fracture would heal fully in about six months.
While on admission in the hospital, the Kogi governor received many high profile visitors, including President Goodluck Jonathan. Dr. Ogedengbe had earlier at a press conference declared that there was no need for the governor to be flown abroad for further medical treatment. The governor’s driver, who also sustained injuries in the car crash, is said to be stable and responding to treatment.

Now that you have experienced what ordinary citizens of your state are going through; its time to start fixing bad roads in your state.
Good luck to him and his family in 2013 and beyond!
Kudos to Dr. Felix for proving to our Politicians especially those who waste tax payers’ money in the name of seeking medical treatment abroad that what they ‘re looking for in ‘Sokoto,is also here in Jokoto’ minus corruption.
Gov. Wada must be commended for his confidence in Dr. Ogedengbe which prompted his rejection of being flown abroad(to embezzle fund).

Thank God the Accident happen to you,,,and soon, it will happen to many top Nigerians in power, the road has been a death trap to many innocent Nigerians,, many people have lost their love once on that road, including your innocent ADC died on that road…this is a typical example of what Innocent Nigerians are facing, you people are bussy shearing money like pure water and forget the need of the people. i only weep for families of the ADC that died NOT FOR YOU.
God’s further protection and quick recovery is what the kogi people are wishing governor Wada and his driver, may the soul of your ADC rest in perfect peace, amen…
I hope our leaders will start equipping our hospitals (in human and machine) to international standard, rather than flying oversea for every little medical case. Kudos to the CMD and his team of doctors. Congrat Gov. Wada for surviving this; and i thank God on your behalf too.
Kudos to Nigerian doctors.
Good and kudos to nigerians… Doctors!
