Another tragedy hits Kogi

•3 days after Wada’s accident, Speaker’s convoy in crash …Police orderly killed

From EMMANUEL ADEYEMI, Lokoja

Three days after Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada was involved in a fatal accident, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Momoh Jimoh Lawal, also had a ghastly accident with a police corporal attached to his convoy losing his life.

An eyewitness said the accident occurred on Monday, three days after the governor lost his Aide de Camp, Idris Mohammed, a superintendent of police. The governor who was severely injured was just discharged from hospital in Abuja.

The Monday accident took place in Osara village along Okene-Lokoja-Abuja Highway when the speaker was returning from Christmas celebration. A heavy-duty vehicle was said to have left its lane and crashed into the convoy with Lawal narrowly escaping being killed.

A police corporal attached to the convoy, Lamidi Akeem from Erinle in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State who was said to be injured in the accident, later died Wednesday morning in a private hospital in Lokoja One of the legislators, who did not want his name in print, confirmed the incident but called on all Nigerians to pray for political leaders in the state, saying, “Kogi is passing through a trauma.”

He said it was a thing of sadness and concern that the Speakers’ convoy was involved in another accident barely four days after Governor Wada’s convoy crashed.

Why didnt one of the political leaders involved died instead of the poor police officers. Either the governor or the speaker would have died. That would have been a better news to hear.

IT IS A PITY THAT NIGERIAN LEADERS ONCE IN OFFICE FORGET THEIR SUBJECTS BUT WHEN PROBLEMS OCCURE, THEY TURN TO THE SOCIETY THEY HAVE ROBBED FOR FASTING AND PRAYING. PRESIDENT HUGO CHAVEZ IS ENJOYING SUCH FROM HIS COUNTRY MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN BECAUSE OF HIS ACHIEVMENTS FOR THEM.

its true Uchebest. Even the sea or water is angry with our political leaders. For me I will never pray for them because they have sworn to the Bible or Quran which is greater than their god fathers. U cant owe Peter and pay Paul. Shikenan.
