Anenih set to return as PDP BoT chair

Ekwueme, Ahmadu Ali, Nnamani also on card
•NWC summons Adamawa gov

From TAIWO AMODU, Abuja
Former Works Minister, Dr Tony Anenih is set to return as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees. The meeting of the party BoT holds tomorrow. Daily Sun findings revealed that the main agenda of the meeting was the choice of chairman for the board. The office had been vacant since former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo resigned from the position.

Those in the race for the office are former vice-president, Dr Alex Ekwueme, former Senate President, Dr. Ken Nnamani and former chairman of the party, Dr Okweselieze Nwodo. Also in the race are former national chairman of the party, Dr Ahmadu Ali, former Works Minister, Chief Tony Anenih and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu. Among the main contenders for the office, Dr Ekwueme and Chief Tony Anenih had once occupied the position. While certain party leaders have anointed Dr Anenih because in their wisdom he commands respect among the party’s founding fathers, those selling the candidature of Dr Ken Nnamani attest to his warm relationship with the civil society groups.

But there are also stalwarts of the party, according to Daily Sun investigation, who were of the opinion that the office should be conceded to the South-East. “The person with the slimmest chance is Dr Ahmadu Ali, as the national secretary of the PDP BoT, Senator Walid Jubril is from Nasarawa State. The chairman and secretary of the BoT cannot come from the same zone,” Daily Sun source further argued. Meanwhile, Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako has been summoned to appear before the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee tomorrow. National Public Secretary of the PDP, Mr Olisa Metuh, a lawyer, told journalists that the governor was to appear “before the NWC on Friday by 10a.m on issues bordering on the progress of the party.”

The National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and Governor Murtala Nyako have been engaged in battle of wits over the control of the state chapter of the party. The Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Minjinjiwa Kaugama and his executive was dissolved by the PDP NWC over what it viewed as insubordination to the national leadership of the party. The party also created a caretaker committee with a mandate to conduct a fresh congress to produce candidates for the Adamawa State local government elections. But the state last Saturday conducted local council election, in defiance to the order of the party’s national leadership.

While the party national publicity secretary did not disclose the offence committed by Governor Nyako, he, however, declared that “this party is bigger than any individual or group. The party is a big party, accomodating, but we will administer this party constitutionally and in the best interest of the party.” The PDP Board of Trustees, (BoT) meeting will also hold tomorrow. Daily Sun findings revealed that the main agenda of the meeting is the choice of chairman for the board. The office had been vacant since former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo resigned from the position.

Anenih from Nigeria police man to one of the richest men in the world. This is something more than evil.
Did Anenih inherit any property?,no he didn’t,did he inherit any business?,no he didn’t.There are thousands of Anenih in Nigeria,so we are very far from development.
People like Anenih should stend the rest of their lives in prison. Why do we like to live with evil men in this country, why on earth are they enjoying the protection of legal armedrobbers?.

PDP is already losing power and respect in the eye of Nigeria because nothing good has come out from any PDP Candidate since the PDP took over Nigeria as a ruling party…. Therefore, both the President under PDP and other elected offices will lose comes 2015

Why should an old man rejected by the highly respected His Royal Majesty Oba of Benin be made of PDP, a man that wasted 300 billions naira during his tenure as Works Minister and who could not fix the Benin express road where he comes from should not be given position by a serious party that really out to fight corruption. Woes unto PDP and it’s old cargoes that continue to bring sufferings, tears and sorrows into the life of over 70% Nigerians, God will certainly punish their Children! Children!! Children!!! for their continued improvising more poverty on us.
