Acting President Yemi Osinbajo will grace the second edition of the Kano State Economic and Investment Summit, which is billed to kick off next week.
The Chairman, Kano Golden Jubilee Committee, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, disclosed this yesterday at a press conference to announce the flag off of events for the 50th anniversary celebration of the creation of Kano State.
Hafiz, who is also the Deputy Governor of the state, revealed that Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote was among international and local business moguls that would play key roles at the summit.
He disclosed that the summit would centre on transforming the economy of the state, adding that many key stakeholders would make presentations on how to unlock the economic opportunities in the state.
Talking about the 50th celebration, he acknowledged that the state, which was created by the military administration of Yakubu Gowon on May 27, 1967, had passed through some challenges, but still maintains its mark as a leading commercial hub with a cherished culture of tolerance and accommodation of people of all backgrounds.
“The journey of 50 years has by all judgment bequeathed us with tremendous levels of successes. It, therefore, behooves on us to commemorate this day with prayers for the continued prosperity of our dear state,” he stated
