Anderlecht and Club Brugge are in the lead to sign Nigerian rising star, Henry Onyekuru , as they have both tabled a £6.7million (about N3.3bn) offer for the KAS Eupen striker.
This fresh development was coming at a time when top EPL side, Everton also expressed interest in signing him.
The 19-year-old had been courted by a host of Premier League sides and was keen to move to England but Anderlecht and Brugge had made opening offers.
Onyekuru had still to make his full international debut for Nigeria, so would need to move for £7m and on a contract of £32,000 a week to ensure a work permit under the totting-up procedure.
Onyekuru is in contention to become Belgium’s player of the year. The teenager can play wide or as a striker and had scored 17 goals so far this season.
Everton, Southampton, Bournemouth and Liverpool had all shown interest while Celtic failed with a bid to sign him in January.
