A day after the national Workers Day celebration in Abuja, which was disrupted by workers who have barred government officials represented by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige from delivering President Muhammadu Buhari’s speech, the workers have been assured that their salary arrears would be cleared.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita,  reassured Federal Civil Servants that efforts is in progress at the highest level of Government to pay the arrears owed them soon.

Mrs. Oyo-Ita said that the Federal Government was particularly concerned about the welfare of the Nigerian workers and would leave no stone unturned to meet their rightful demands.

 “As the nation’s economy bounces out of recession and returns to the path of sustainable growth, attention will be paid to the other welfare matters of the Nigeria Workers in line with the 2017-2020 Economic Recovery and Growth Plan.”

Oyo-Ita enjoined on the Nigeria Workers to sustain their focused support of the current administration for effective service delivery to the citizenry. 

“Let us maintain our resolve to condemn and eschew corruption in all its forms, internalize the change agenda of the current administration by allowing the change that each and every one desires to begin with him/her. We must embrace the “Change Begins with Me” slogan in all facets of our daily lives and activities.” Oyo-Ita said.
