The Federal Government said it would henceforth ensure strict regulation of the practice of engineering in Nigeria by expatriates.
To achieve this, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) will be partnering the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) in the enforcement.
Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Simbi Wabote, while delivering keynote on the theme “Entrepreneurship and Manufacturing in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities for a better future,” at the 26th Engineering Assembly in Abuja, on Tuesday, decried the way foreigners come into the country and dabble into engineering practice.
He tasked Nigerian engineers to come up with how they can operate in the deep water that is currently exclusive to expatriates.
The NCDMN boss also disclosed that a new financing scheme that would offer single digit financing to Nigerian entrepreneurs would be rolled out by the end of the month.
