An aspirant on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), Dr. Chris Enemuo, has refuted reports that the party had entered into an alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support one of its aspirants, Any Uba.

Enemuo who disclosed this in Abuja after submitting his nomination form at the Party’s headquarters said his party was not part of the alliance allegedly made by 15 political parties which endorsed Uba as their consensus candidate for the gubernatorial election. “My party could not have been part of that deal”, he said.

The party’s National Vice Chairman, North Central Zone,  Adi Shirsha Adi concurred with Enemuo, saying that the party could not have been part of the affiliation of political parties supporting Uba.

He said: “Labour Party his is alive In Anambra and we have the capacity to win governorship of the state. The Party is well prepared for the election and we are out to win.”

Enemuo expressed confidence in his chances of winning the party’s ticket and promised that if elected, his party would give workers welfare top priority.

He said: “We are ready clear the polls, unseat the incumbent and send all candidates of other political parties packing. Workers in Anambra state have suffered too much and I am confident that with the mandate of the people, workers will heave a sigh of relief.

“We will also establish industrial size modern settlements for the cultivation of crops to achieve food security. If elected, my administration will among many other projects establish foundries and industries for local manufacturing and production.”
