History was made at the Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards (NHEA) 2017, as Pathcare Laboratories, an internationally accredited laboratory (ISO 15189) in Nigeria, became the winner of the Private Laboratory Service Provider of the Year category for the fourth time
The NHEA, the “Oscars” equivalent of the Nigerian health care recognition, is presented by Global Health.  Chairman, Board of Directors, Prof. Ibironke Akinsete, also received the 2017 NHEA Lifetime Achievements Award, in recognition of her distinguished career and passionate commitment to excellence and quality health care, especially in the areas of women and HIV/AIDS.
Reacting to the awards, Prof. Akinsete, noted that, the awards for her and the organisation is more than a recognition but a call for further commitment to the health care system in Nigeria. She further revealed that, there is always a huge responsibility on you when you are spotted and called out in every sphere of life but the health care delivery system is unique for the kind of role practitioners play in general wellbeing of human endeavour. She pledged the company’s commitment to promoting health care system through quality care and services.

Winners in other categories of the 2017 NHEA include JNC International Limited who won the Innovative Healthcare Service Provider of the Year, while Eye Foundation was recognised as the Eye Care Service Provider of the Year awards respectively.
