The police in Ebonyi State have uncovered kidnappers’ hideout where victims were kept in Emezabi community, Ngbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state. The location at the boundary between Ebonyi and Benue states had served as hideout for kidnappers over the years where they kept their victims while negotiating for ransom before their release.

Protesters yesterday held Rivers State Governor, Hon Chibuike Amaechi and four visiting governors hostage at the Port Harcourt International Airport. The governors holed in at the airport, with Amaechi, are Alhaji Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso (Kano), Alhaji Mu’azu Babangida Aliu (Niger) and Vice Admiral Murtala Nyako (Adamawa).

As the political crisis in Rivers State lingers, Evans Bipi, who was chosen by lawmakers opposed to Governor Chibuike Amaechi as speaker of the state House of Assembly, has insisted he is the authentic leader of the House. Claiming to have been elected by over 23 members of the House and not five people, as been widely reported, Bipi said he was the presiding officer of the House.
