The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has given a pass mark to the Prof. Ishaq Oloyede-led Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) over its performance in the conduct of last week Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The group in a statement signed by its national  president, Aruna Kadiri said there position is informed by the report of their various field officers sent across the country on independent assessment and monitoring of the exercise.

It noted that despite some teething technical problems experienced in some centres and some externally induced hitches which were beyond the control of the board, the conducts of the exam was hugely successful in many parts of the country.

“With the increase in numbers of students for this year’s examination and also considering the fact that this is the second fully Computer Based Test (CBT) to be conducted by JAMB, the NANS is of the view that the conduct of the exam was a marked improvement over previous years,” it said.

The students body said   the various reforms put in place by the Professor Oloyede leadership to make the exam corruption free and fraud proof yielded results as there were no cases of  Cyber hacking as witnessed in previous years.
