Rafael  Nadal has been spotted walking with crutches after leaving hospital on Tuesday.
The tennis sensation has had an operation on his ankle following the confirmation his 2018 season is over.
Nadal, 32, withdrew from the ATP World Tour Finals in London next week in order to have the treatment.
His decision means he will lose the end-of-season world No 1 ranking to Novak Djokovic.
Nadal was spotted leaving hospital with his right ankle in a bandage following surgery on Monday.
The 17-time Grand Slam champion supported himself of crutches.
His surgery was carried out in Barcelona by doctors Jaume Vilaro and Angel Ruiz-Cotorro.
“It was a complicated year, very good at the tennis level when I was able to play and at the same time very bad as far as injuries are concerned,” Nadal said.
“I have done everything possible to reach the end of the season in good condition, both in Paris and London, doing things well and I really wanted to play.
