The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has launched an investigation to unravel persons behind illegal movement of cash totaling N49 million found at the Kaduna International Airport yesterday.

Spokesman of EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, stated that operatives of the  commission, at the Kaduna zonal office, did intercept a sum of N49million in five large black 150kg sacks following a tip off.

According to him, the discovery was made during a routine baggage screening of five sacks sighted unattended and without tags.

Upon examination, the bags were found to contain crispy naira notes of N200 denomination amounting to N40 million and N50 denomination in 180 bundles totaling N9 million with seal purportedly emanating from the Nigeria Security and Minting Plc (NSPM), as seen in the labeled sealed packs.

He stated that investigation into the case has commenced.
