Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has given himself a pat on the back for the outstanding performance of his administration in the state.

He passed the self commendation during a special appearance on Viewpoint; Rhythm FM Port Harcourt Phone-in Programme on Saturday, saying that his development projects spread across the state had enhanced the acceptability of the PDP as a party to beat in any election.

“If elections are held 100 times in Rivers State, the PDP will win. The chances of the PDP are even brighter in Rivers State as a result of my performance,” he said.

“I have projects located in all local government areas of the state. I have reasons in each local government area why the people should vote for me.”

Governor Wike said though several groups had endorsed him for a second term, he would only declare his decision to seek re-election after extensive consultations with stakeholders across the board.

Speaking on the issue of security, he said: “If we do not work in synergy with security agencies, how would we have gotten Don Wanny?  Don Wanny did not start today. He reigned all through the Amaechi administration. What measures did Amaechi take to bring him to justice? We have tracked down Don Wanny and brought him to justice.”

While blaming the Federal Government for the security threat in the country, Governor Wike promised to set up neighbourhood watch to support the security agencies.

He also disclosed the readiness of the state electoral commission to hold local government elections this year.
