A Judge of the Ondo State High Court, Justice S.A Sadiq, has raised the alarm over an alleged plan by some individuals to eliminate him.
He made this disclosure while announcing his withdrawal from a suit involving the ex-local council chairmen and the state government and urged the Acting Chief Judge of the state, Justice Ibitayo Osoba, to re-assign the case to any other judge in the state.
Justifying his action, he accused the sacked council chairmen of being the masterminds of the evil plot. In a dramatic manner, Justice Sadiq announced his decision to the audience who were already seated in the court room after the counsels in the case had announced their appearance. He said: “I am disqualifying myself from further hearing of PDP and its former council chairmen case to appeal the judgment as an interested person.”
He further explained that the ex-council chairmen had written a petition against him to the National Judicial Commission (NJC) and also went ahead to blackmail him on the social media, calling him all sorts of names because his earlier judgment on the suit did not go in their favour.
At the session, PDP was represented by Mr Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), while Mr Segun Ogodo stood for the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and Charles Titiloye represented the state Attorney-General (AG).
