FAST rising actress, Omo­dolapo Obembe, has revealed that her mum once prevented her from acting while she was still studying in school.

The Ilesa indigene of Osun State disclosed that while she was studying at Osun State Polytechnic, her mum denied her access to stage play rehearsals and any activity related to acting because she believed she couldn’t combine both at the same time.

“Acting is what I have pas­sion for right from my child­hood days and in the first years of my incursion into the world of movies, I went through hell because my mum didn’t allow me combine studying with acting. She always said one had to wait for the other and after completion of my OND, I decided to go into it fully,” the actress revealed.

Dolapo, who has acted alongside some of the big names in the movie industry including Toyin Aimakhu, Ricardo Agbor, Wale Akorede, Olaniyi Afonja, Adeniyi John­son, Toyin Afolayan, Yinka Quadri, Akin Lewis, Ayo Olaiya and Murphy Afolabi added: “After a while, I was able to convince my mum into believing in my ability to com­bine studying and acting and it was really challenging and stressful. I remember I had to go to rehearsal every weekend traveling between Osun State and Lagos. I had to come back every Monday to continue school. But thank God it was all worth it.”

The fast rising movie act have starred in movies like Omo Eko, Oruka Aje, Saloko Alagbe, Afefe, Iku Ile, Farida and Darasimi.
