EMBATTLED Giwa FC
has run into fresh troubles
with league organizers,
LMC, for failing to show
up in Abuja to complete
her abandoned week 11
game against Rangers on
Wednesday.
Daily Sunsports gathered
that Giwa would
have to cough out a total
of N3.65m for not honoring
the tie . The LMC
which has continued to
receive plaudits for taking
the domestic league
to the next level, has
also given three referees
red for the rest of the
season for unsatisfactory
conducts and poor performances
in the last games
they handled.
According to our
source, Giwa would pay
a fine of N2m to LMC
for failing to show up in
Abuja, pay another N1m
to Rangers to offset the
bills of the Flying Antelopes
and N650,000 to
the match officials.
“The fines are in line
with Rule B (13.25)
governing the league,”
our source said. He added
that Giwa has 48 hours to
either accept the ruling in
writing or file an appeal
to the nation’s soccer
governing body, NFF.
Giwa had before now
been slammed a total
of N6.5m fine and was
banished to Ilorin where
she would play her next
three home games. The
Jos side, going by this
development would host
Wikki in Ilorin this weekend
and it is not yet clear
if the club would accept
to play in Ilorin or not.
Meanwhile our source
further gave the names
of the referees that have
been hammered by LM Cas the Lagos duo of
Gabriel Adigwe and Jelili
Ogunmuyiwa. The third
is Bauchi’s Mohammed
Saleh. LMC is said not to be satisfied with the way
Saleh handled Sunshine,
Enyimba game, while
Adigwe and Ogunmuyiwa
are being punished for their poor handling
of Lobi versus Tornadoes
and Akwa versus Enyimba
ties respectively.
