Famous celebrity barber and influencer, Ali Alhashemi’s claim to fame are not just his amazing hairstyles and unique haircutting techniques, but also his communal work. Alhashemi says,

“If your thinning on top, I’ll trim your sides down to a level shorter than your top. Doing that makes your top look fuller. Contrary to what most people think, growing your top when it’s thinning doesn’t help hide your balding. Instead it leaves room to see spacing between the hair and reveals more of your scalp.”

Ali is one of those talented hairstylists, who, besides their god-gifted skill, have also worked upon their talent and have gained the prowess that has made them stand out from the rest of his clan.

“I add a little colour application or dye on the hair and even some on the scalp, which obviously doesn’t bring the hair back, but darkens it so the scalp isn’t showing as much. The process lasts about two to two-and-a-half weeks. It’s important to maintain short hair because if hair is too long it will start to gap up, and you’ll see the dye on the scalp.”

Alhashemi is enthusiastic about helping his community with this talent of his. He has done a tremendous job when it comes to cancer patients. Alhashemi believes that anyone who has ever benefited from his work has contributed another reason for him to admire what he does, and stay contented with it.

He says,

“The biggest thing I see actually is alopecia, which is just like a random bald spot. Most of the time I can fix that, like if the spot is on the back of their head, ill trim it down to zero fade on the sides and back. I actually did a haircut giveback a few months ago, where I gave free haircuts to people with thinning hair or people who were in chemo. There were about 20 people waiting outside the shop just to get in. But I guess that’s just how it starts. You cut one guy’s hair and they’ll bring in all their people”.

Ali started this with a client who first came in after getting his chemotherapy done. According to Al, the client was initially very insecure about his hair, but he had seen his Instagram page, so he came forward.

Alhashemi takes his time, focuses on the look of his clients and then visualises how his perceived hairstyles would look on them. Usually what barbers do is that they do not take the time to figure out how to make people’s hair look good on them in the genuine sense of the word. However, the way Al does it reflects his dedication, resolve and determination to elevate his skills and bring a transformative change within the community with this talent. This is primarily Al’s claim to fame and the reason he is so venerated and loved by his Instagram viewership.
