Market leader tasks FG on exchange rate

By Itoro Godwin

President of the Alaba International Traders Association, Mr. Emeka Mozoba, has appealed to the Federal Government to look into the current exchange rate affecting businessmen across the country and to put in some measures to reduce the hardship biting hard on the masses.
He disclosed this recently at the commissioning of  the Ubakason Avenue/Ilufe Road project in the Alaba Int’l market.
Mozoba said the traders decided to embark on the project to create access road for free flow of traffic in the market, adding that it was of economic importance as customers from any part of the country can come in to transact business with ease.
He said part of his campaign promises included creating an enabling environment for business, ensuring unity among all the tribal groups in the market, and eradicating cultism and thuggery in the market.
Also speaking, General Secretary of the market, Mr. Francis Okafor, said the road will serve as an alternative route to traders as well as help to ease traffic.
He said the road had been a nightmare for  customers plying the route, adding that “by the time we finish it, the road will encourage customers to troop into the market.”
