Acting President Yemi Osinbajo met behind closed doors with some top security chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, yesterday.

Those in attendance were the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

Others were the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gabriel Olonishakin and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno.

The meeting started around 3.05pm and ended at about 5:00pm.

Rising from the meeting, however, it was commendation for Osinbajo from Dan-Ali, who praised the acting president’s handling of affairs in the Niger Delta.

Thereafter, Dan-Ali told State House Correspondents details of the meeting with the acting president.

“It’s a pending issue of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that we wanted to resolve on maritime surveillance and it has been resolved.”

On concrete steps to end oil theft in the Niger Delra, Dan-Ali replied: “The acting president has been meeting with the communities. We have been able to save many communities of oil pipeline bombings and oil theft.

“It is a big achievement and I believe that the acting president has been doing well in that direction.”
